Linkers, Spacers and PEGylation
Depending upon design and application we can insert a spacer/linker between the tags, protein(KLH,BSA) or fluorescent and the peptides. A common hydrophobic spacer is aminohexanoic acid (Ahx), and a common hydrophilic spacer is poly(ethylene) glycol (PEG). Others please reference the below listed table: such as Gly, AEA, Ava, ANP Linker, Beta-Alanine, C12, GABA, etc...

PEGylated Peptides
Peptide with PEG modification can improve their solubility, increase their half life in biological applications by protecting them from proteolytic digestion. In addition, PEGylation can mask the peptide from producing an immune response. Thus, pegylated peptide may overcome many of the challenges and are being examined as potential drugs and drug candidates.
